Admission Requirements at European University Geneva

Undergraduate / Bachelor  Programs
A secondary school certificate equivalent to:
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • US high school diploma
  • English ‘A’ levels
  • Deutsches Abitur
  • Maturite Federale
  • Swiss Matura
  • French Baccalaureat

For non-native speakers, proven proficiency from one of the following:
  • TOEFL score 213 (computer based) or 79/80 (internet based), or 550 (paper based), Institute code 0476
  • IELTS score 6.0
  • Cambridge ESOL, Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), minimum C
  • EU’s internal English exam
Graduate / MBA Programs
A bachelor degree from an accredited college or university
Two recommendation letters or PPI (Personal Potential Index, recommended)

For non-native speakers, proficiency in one of the following:
  • TOEFL score 213 (computer based) or 79/80 (internet based), or 550 (paper based), Institute code 0476
  • IELTS score 6.0
  • Cambridge ESOL, Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), minimum C
  • EU’s internal English exam

Any two of the following:
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (B average)
  • A satisfactory score on the GMAT (institution code campus Geneva Z5K-S2-78) or GRE (institution code campus Geneva 4986)
  • 2 or more years of effective managerial or professional work experience which may include military duty
  • Personal interview

Doctorate Programs

A student accepted to the Doctorate program can commence study in the Fall, Winter or Spring semester. The minimum admission requirement is a Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Admission to the program is highly competitive. In general, the applications of those admitted show that there is a high probability that they will successfully complete the doctoral program, and that they have potential for successful pursuit in their fields of interest and careers.

The factors that are considered in making admission decisions are:

  1. Graduate grade point average. Successful doctoral candidates have usually had GPAs of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale
  2. GRE and GMAT scores. Successful doctorate candidates have typically been in the upper 8% on these tests.
  3. Information from Applicant Evaluation Forms submitted by the applicant. Successful candidates have shown high motivation and employment that is closely related to their fields of study.
  4. The letter of intent explaining why admission to the Doctorate program is sought.

There is a 200 CHF NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE.

Graduates from non-English-speaking countries must take the TOEFL test. A minimum of 600 points is required for admission. Institute code 0476.
